The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Resident Engineer for immediate employment in Murray / Salt Lake City, UT. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in the Construction Engineering and Management industry and have a proven track record of major successful projects for UDOT and local agencies.

  • Provides technical direction and guidance to staff and subordinate engineers/inspectors, enforces company and project policies, maintains close client interface, and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule
  • Supervises field staff, coordinates field activities, and provides project progress reports to the Client and AECOM Department Manager
  • Prepares and manages quality and safety plans for the project
  • Work with the Department Manager on development and execution of significant project pursuits and delivery
  • Work with the Department Manager to formulate and execute project opportunity capture strategies, including teaming and positioning for major pursuits, helping in proposal efforts and identification of required staff resources to win and effectively deliver projects
  • Establish relationships with external clients and customers, including industry associations and other potential consultant team members and construction contractors
  • Be a visible leader and trusted advisor to clients by promoting AECOM's values both internally and externally
  • BA/BS + 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Utah
  • Prior experience working with UDOT
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Experience in client prepositioning activities, team (internal and external partners) and proposal development
  • 10 + years of resident engineering experience managing major roadway and bridge construction projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
