Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree in Human Services or related field with 1 year experience as a Residence Counselor in a comparable program or AA degree in Human Services or related field with 3 years’ experience as above or High School Diploma with 5 years related experience.
  • Experience working with diverse populations recovering from mental illness preferred.
  • Strong computer knowledge: typing, communication tools, scheduling tools and web browsers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and database management systems.
  • Fluency in English (Reading, Writing, Speaking).
  • Must be cleared and maintain clearance by applicable regulatory clearances as required.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Must obtain and maintain Defensive Driver Certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and support to adults recovering from mental illness.
  • Fill in for the Program Supervisor in his/her absence.
  • Assist in the supervision of residence counselors.
  • Assist with staff meetings and case conferences.
  • Comply with program practices and procedures.
  • Attend meetings or events as directed.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with other community agencies, organizations, groups and/or individuals.
  • Order inventory and supplies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all documentation.
  • Completion of Greater Mental Health or state-sponsored In-Service Training Programs.
  • Provide daily supervision and support to adults recovering from mental illness and residing in community-based congregate settings.
  • Serve as a role model, providing a home-like atmosphere in which dignity and respect enhance each person’s existence.
  • Participate in person centered service planning and provide restorative services for each resident.
  • Supervise self-medication program.
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations by following emergency procedures.
  • Maintain electronic health record and other required paperwork.
  • Plan, implement and participate in recreational activities.
  • Attend and complete all MHA or state sponsored In-Service Training Programs related to position, program or agency goals.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment and transport residents in the Agency vehicle to community appointments, shopping, etc., as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
