The In Vitro Methods (IVM) Lab at Brandeis University, led by Prof. Duane Juang, is seeking a motivated Research Technician in Microbiology and Diagnostics. The successful candidate for this position will work on interdisciplinary projects alongside biologists and engineers to develop microscale microbial community models for antibiotic discovery. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: A degree in Biomedical Engineering, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related field; Hands-on experience working with bacteria; Experience developing diagnostic devices for infectious diseases. The hiring range for the position is $46.5k-$58.1k The essential functions of the position include: Function 1: Design and execute experiments related to: Building microbial community models for antibiotic discovery and developing diagnostic devices and assays for infectious diseases. Estimated time: 50% Function 2: Support the day-to-day operations and management of the lab: 30% Function 3: Assist in mentoring junior researchers in the lab: 20%
