About The Position

A Senior Research Scientist position is available in an NIH-funded laboratory to lead research in kidney cancer biology and pharmacology, with emphasis on stress-responsive signaling, metabolic remodeling, and cell fate regulation in renal cell carcinoma. The Senior Research Scientist will design and execute experiments integrating molecular and cellular biology approaches, including protein–protein interaction assays, kinase activity analyses, transcriptional profiling, and advanced imaging such as confocal and multiphoton microscopy. Responsibilities include overseeing data generation and analysis for NIH-sponsored projects, developing and optimizing experimental protocols, mentoring laboratory personnel, and contributing to translational studies at the interface of cancer biology and organ injury. The laboratory offers a dynamic and collaborative research environment with opportunities for manuscript and grant preparation and continued professional development.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree or foreign equivalent degree.
  • Five years of full time research experience in molecular biology and proteomics, to include at least three years of research experience in cancer pharmacology following attainment of a doctoral degree.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD / MD in Molecular Biology or Biotechnology.
  • Experience related to cancer biology, drug transporters, post-translational regulation, and pharmacology.
  • Team leadership, mentoring, or supervision experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design and implement research experiments in the field of renal cancer pharmacology to achieve research objective(s). Preparation of papers for publications, presentation of results in scientific conferences, workshops and seminars. Oversee the preparation of grant proposals and application of grants. Collaborate with members of scientific communities, both nationally and internationally.
  • Supervise, plan, organize and evaluate the activities of others including postdoctoral associates, research support positions and graduate assistants. Maintain all laboratory records consistent with University policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
