About The Position

The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (“the Foundation”) is seeking top talent for its Senior Research Budget Analyst position. This position is responsible for forecasting, tracking, and analyzing financial data across multiple departments. This role will ensure that key financial metrics are monitored systematically, while also contributing innovations and sophistication to the Foundation's budget implantation process and net asset release process, as well as oversight and input on priority projects. This is a hybrid-flex position that will require in-person attendance on a semi-regular basis at the Foundation's office in New York City.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience managing complex financial projects as a Budget Manager, Financial Analyst, Budget Analyst, or a similar role
  • Relevant knowledge of MS Excel, including creating financial models, pivot tables, charts, and advanced formulas
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with forecasting methods and data analysis; high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely
  • Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with grants management, project management applications, data visualization and dashboard platforms like Domo is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Finance department to provide financial oversight, ensuring proper procedures for managing operational budgets, grants, and contracts
  • Utilize business intelligence and grants management systems to forecast budgets, track financial performance, and create dashboards to visualize data for cross-functional teams
  • Prepare materials for board presentations, including budget summaries and key performance indicators and actively contributes to strategic planning discussions, offering insights into funding priorities and resource allocation
  • Develop financial models and projections using Microsoft Excel, incorporating complex datasets for scenario planning and process improvement
  • Collaborate with Finance and Expense Management Specialist to oversee restricted net asset release planning
  • Balance multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and adjusting to changing priorities or requirements
