About The Position

We're looking for a Senior Research Associate, Biology on the Research team to help us expand what's possible for patients with serious diseases. Reporting to the Assistance Principal Scientist, you'll work with a multidisciplinary team of research scientists to investigate therapeutics for treating neutrophil-mediated diseases across several pre-clinical projects. This will involve assisting with tasks such as cell culture, in vitro hematopoietic stem cell expansion and differentiation, in vitro compound screening, performing enzymatic assays, ex vivo sample processing, as well as conducting various molecular biology techniques, including flow cytometry, western blot, and ELISA.

Requirements

  • You have a Master's degree in Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or related discipline, or Bachelor's degree along with minimum 2 years of pharmaceutical experience.
  • Hands-on experience with cell culture and standard molecular biology assays, including enzymatic assays, ELISA, flow cytometry, and western blot
  • Hands-on experience isolating bone marrow cells from animals
  • Experience working with immune cells and hematopoietic stem cells
  • Experience with data processing, analysis, statistics, and data interpretation
  • Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently in a team environment
  • A high degree of organization, detail orientation, and time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with cellular imaging instruments, fluorescence microscopes, and qPCR
  • Experience with automated liquid handling

Responsibilities

  • Culture primary cells and continuous cell lines such as neutrophils, hematopoietic stem cells, immune cells, and/or relevant cell lines to support in vitro/ex vivo experiments
  • Perform in vitro assays, including various compound screening assays and enzymatic assays and prepare formulations in support of in vivo studies
  • Support ex vivo sample receipt, processing, and preparation for downstream analyses
  • Perform molecular/cellular biology techniques, including flow cytometry, ELISA, and Western blotting
  • Operate and maintain proficiency with laboratory instrumentation, including plate readers, fluorescence microscopy, and other relevant platforms
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data using Excel, XLfit, FlowJo, and GraphPad Prism
  • Maintain proper documentation of experimental procedures and results via an electronic laboratory notebook
  • Summarize experimental outcomes and prepare clear presentations in PowerPoint format
  • Draft, review, and contribute to technical reports and study documentation and present scientific findings in internal research meetings
  • Prepare and maintain a constant supply of reagents, buffers, and other materials to support on-going assays
