About The Position

This Senior Research Assistant (RA) will support two studies of bystander behavior in young adults, one focused on reducing sexual violence risk in alcohol contexts and one focused on reducing alcohol-related risk. The Senior RA activities involve participant recruitment and communication; participant tracking and retention, reviewing data quality and managing datafiles, managing participant payments, documenting project procedures, programming screening surveys and assessment batteries, assisting with preparing data for analysis, and supporting all investigator research needs. The Senior RA will also be involved with participant recruitment, conducting virtual research participant sessions via Zoom, consent tracking, implementation of study protocols, administering study measures and training research assistants. The RA is expected to generate and maintain project documentation, conduct library research as needed, and assemble requested materials for IRB modifications, manuscript and presentation preparation, and progress reports. Other activities will include collection, organization, scoring, and management of data and assisting with data analysis. Education and Experience BA or BS in psychology or related field with (3-5 years) experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with human subjects’ research related to subject matter (e.g., sexual violence, alcohol) Experience with statistical software (SPSS or R), preferred. Required to work evening or weekend hours up to 2 days/week for participant sessions. Coursework in research design is preferred Experience in programming online surveys in Qualtrics and MetricWire/Catalyst is preferred Experience managing databases preferred Coursework in addiction, substance abuse, and/or interpersonal violence preferred Experience with management of ecological momentary assessment data preferred Experience with or interest in social media/marketing preferred. This is a fixed-term position with a current end date of December 31, 2026, which may be extended based upon available funding. This position entails sharing a commitment to accomplish the goals of the research program. A commitment of at least one year is expected; position can be renewed further based on mutual agreement. This is a remote eligible position Position may require flexible hours (e.g., evenings, weekends) during some phases of the study, to meet participant needs. To be eligible for a remote work arrangement, candidates must reside in a state where Brown University is currently registered for payroll and business operations. These states include: RI, CA, CO, CT, FL, MD, MA, NY, NH, NJ, NC, and Washington, D.C. Residing in these locations ensures no changes to your current taxation status. Requirements
