About The Position

Participate in research data collection and documentation within relevant guidelines and protocols, develop and evaluate new research techniques and procedures, publish results in scientific journals. Perform bone studies using gene knockout mouse models. Perform cell culture, molecular biology experiments, minor surgical, microscopic, and statistical/computational analyses. Will help to maintain mouse breeding colonies. Will perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other natural, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science, or a clinical setting particularly clinical trials research and minimum of two years of applicable experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Willingness and ability to work with research animals.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in research data collection and documentation within relevant guidelines and protocols; develop and evaluate new research techniques and procedures; publish results in scientific journals.
  • Perform experiments using conditional knockout mouse models and drug treatment to study changes in bone density/structure, as well as marrow inflammation.
  • Perform molecular biology experiments such as qRT-PCR, cell culture, microscopic, and statistical analysis.
  • Will help to maintain mouse breeding colonies. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
