About The Position

This position will serve as technical expert for Inlife operational group.

Requirements

  • AS in Veterinary Technology or related field OR BS Degree in life science such as Animal Science, Biology, Wildlife Studies, Zoology or related field
  • 1 year or more of experience as a Study Tech preferably in Inlife Operations
  • 1 year or more of experience with animal handling at Labcorp or similar preclinical research facility.
  • 1 year or more of performing dosing and related task with preclinical animal resreach studies

  • AALAS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities involved in toxicology and metabolism studies.
  • Perform technical procedures in various areas in compliance with appropriate SOPs, GLPs, and regulatory agency guidelines.
  • To monitor animal health and welfare in compliance with the Animal Welfare Act and help maintain facilities for AAALAC compliance
  • Responsible for study scheduling including: technical team capacity, animal rooms, equipment, live-phase technicians, necropsy, study account set up, animal procurement and daily task scheduling
  • Independently carry out technical phases of complex studies, including study management, data organization, QA audit response, internal and external client communication skills, and quality check procedures.
  • Perform research and development in area of expertise (DART, Telemetry, Safety Tox, Neuro Tox, Pathology, Micrographs)
  • Develop and implement training and train less experienced staff
  • Develop new procedures and associated SOPs.
  • Monitor recently developed procedures and refines as needed.
  • Create metrics.
  • Perform edit and scheduling functions using data collection systems.
  • Assist in preparation of study costing, staff plans, and scheduling activities.
  • Participate in client visits, debriefings, and study initiations.
  • Identifies and take appropriate action with problems, potential problems with protocols, SOPs, and schedules.
  • Participate in scientific presentations and posters (at AALAS, MARTA, Staff Meetings)
  • Able to adapt techniques to new procedures or particular needs as directed.
  • Effectively schedules multiple assignments.
  • Report all animal care concerns and become involved in the resolution and appropriate corrective action, when necessary
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
