The UCLA Latino Policy & Politics Institute (LPPI) seeks dynamic research professionals to serve as our Sr. Research Analysts. LPPI champions nonpartisan, evidence-based domestic policy solutions that improve the economic, political, and social landscape for Latinos and other communities of color in states and localities across the U.S. LPPI leverages UCLA's cross-disciplinary strengths to create an enterprise-wide home for Latino social policy with expertise in over a dozen issue areas including civil rights, criminal justice, educational equity, health access, housing, and voting and civic participation. LPPI fosters innovative research, leverages policy-relevant expertise, drives civic engagement, and nurtures a leadership pipeline to propel viable policy reforms that expand opportunity for all Americans. Under the direction of the Directors of Research, the Senior Research Analyst supports LPPI's research programs and operations. This includes assisting with the development, management, and execution of LPPI's research portfolios, data collection and analysis, research dissemination, and fostering relationships with academic, practitioner, and policy experts. The incumbent will also support faculty affiliates in translating their peer-reviewed research into policy-friendly formats. In addition, the Senior Research Analyst will manage research analysts, supervise LPPI student fellows, and co-facilitate research training to develop their skills. The Senior Research Analyst operates with high autonomy, working closely with the Directors of Research and other LPPI staff to drive research projects and identify partnership opportunities. Success is measured by the amplification of LPPI's research, successful management of extramural grants, and integration of research into evidence-based policymaking. The role includes co-developing and guiding research design and methodology in alignment with their expertise, contributing to funding proposals, and ensuring the quality of data collection and research protocols.
