About The Position

The Senior Research Analyst (SRA) position involves analyzing all-source intelligence to address a broad range of issues, particularly focusing on insurgent capabilities and actions, political and cultural climates, tribal and social networks, and other relevant issues. The SRA will monitor and analyze threat intelligence, ensuring the credibility and urgency of the information, and will produce concise written and oral intelligence reports for embassy management and DS personnel. Daily responsibilities include preparing intelligence summary reports for personal protection, guard force, and emergency response teams, as well as assessments and spot reports. The SRA will also brief DS personnel on security matters and communicate urgent threat information as necessary. Liaison work with U.S. officials and military units on site is required, along with maintaining a situational map of incidents and a database of known threats. The role also involves developing an indication and warning matrix to illustrate possible enemy intent and preparing supporting reports.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of all-source intelligence analytical experience.
  • Must possess a minimum of one (1) year overseas experience performing as an intelligence analyst.
  • Must have completed a formal military intelligence training course or have equivalent training through classified online courses and work experience demonstrating the use and function of the U.S. Intelligence Cycle.
  • Must attend and successfully complete a supervisory course meeting the requirements established in WPS III IDIQ, Attachment 1, Position Descriptions, Section 1.2.C.
  • Must attend and successfully complete the NPSS training course, as outlined in WPS III IDIQ, Attachment 2, Training.
  • Obtain and maintain a Personnel Security Clearance, up to TS/SCI, as identified in the TO.
  • Possess no impediments to traveling overseas to and within countries that are considered dangerous or unhealthy in general, or to the country or countries assigned in the applicable TO.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze threat intelligence, reviewing information for credibility, urgency, and specific target information.
  • Produce concise written and oral intelligence reports for use by embassy management and DS personnel.
  • Prepare daily written and oral intelligence summary reports for applicable personal protection, guard force, and emergency response team services.
  • Prepare assessments and spot reports.
  • Brief appropriate DS personnel on security matters pertaining to the operating environment on a daily or weekly basis.
  • Notify/communicate urgent threat information to the appropriate DS personnel.
  • Perform liaison work with U.S. officials and military units on site, and with DS counterparts daily.
  • Maintain a situational map of incidents and a database of known threats, events, and indications of enemy intent.
  • Develop and use an indication and warning matrix to illustrate possible enemy intent and prepare reports that support these conclusions.
