About The Position

The Senior Business Development Representative (SBDR) is responsible for the management and growth of the assigned territory within the U.S. Independent Eye Care Professional (ECP) Channel. This role involves conducting sales calls with eye care professionals such as optometrists, ophthalmologists, and opticians to promote ZEISS products and services. The SBDR will develop and maintain effective plans for their territory, implement account-specific programs, and conduct quarterly business reviews with sales leadership to evaluate performance against company goals.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in a successful business-to-business sales environment, preferably in Rx sales, optical, medical device, or retail operations.
  • Strong sales focus with the ability to move key opportunities through the sales cycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating plans to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
  • Effective consultative, conceptual, and negotiation skills.
  • Disciplined and results-oriented approach to selling.
  • Ability to influence situations and people.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with standard MS Office applications and company technology devices.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed sales growth targets for Direct Rx business and other strategic targets.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com to identify key customer targets to increase territory sales.
  • Profile and evaluate each customer's store operation and create value-based sales strategies.
  • Conduct pre-call planning and establish relationships as a trusted advisor.
  • Lead sales conversations with ECPs and close deals.
  • Create innovative approaches to meet business objectives.
  • Communicate the advantages of Carl Zeiss Vision products to Eye Care Professionals.
  • Conduct training and educational seminars to increase demand for Carl Zeiss Vision labs and lenses.
  • Establish collaborative working relationships with colleagues.
  • Input accurate reports via Salesforce.com and manage travel costs.
