To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What You’ll Be Doing The US Data Management Office is responsible for establishing data as a strategic asset for CIBC US Region, further enhancing data governance, building out our data and analytic capabilities, and developing the US Region data management strategy. Our strategy is to leverage data and analytics to build competitive advantage to enhance our client focus. To facilitate this we improve our data quality through focused data governance programs and processes and use new data technology to increase agility, reduce cost and become an analytics leader, focusing on continuous advancement. This position is responsible for partnering with internal stakeholders across the organization to implement self-service analytics solutions, build custom analytics dashboards, and drive process automation for our internal partners. You will also be managing a small team of two junior analysts. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

Requirements

  • You have 7-10 years of experience in a data centric reporting and analytics role, ideally in the Banking or Financial Services sector.
  • A degree/diploma in accounting, finance, business, or related field is preferred.
  • You’re innovative and technologically inclined. You seek out innovative solutions and embrace evolving technologies. You can easily adapt to new tools and trends.
  • You have a strong technical acumen, and have proficiency in Excel, PowerBI, Tableau or other Business Intelligence reporting tools.
  • You are a strong communicator with stellar interpersonal oral and written communication skills. You are comfortable speaking with anyone at any level of the organization, including senior management.
  • You are highly experienced in translating business requirements into effective, actionable and practical solutions.
  • You're self-driven and self-sufficient. You have strong analytical, logical, reasoning and problem-solving skills. You are comfortable working with ambiguity and can seek out answers with minimum supervision.
  • You see simple and elegant solutions to complex problems.
  • You are data driven. You have a broad and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relational databases and their reporting.
  • You understand that success is in the details. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making.

Nice To Haves

  • SQL and Python knowledge is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Bank’s front line business teams on their data journey.
  • Act as the business’ advisor to guide them on best practices around data analytics and reporting and help them implement innovative reporting solutions to help achieve more robust analytics and gain process efficiencies.
  • Assess their data needs and data proficiency with an eye towards self-service reporting capabilities.
  • Leverage multiple Business Intelligence tools and data sources to build custom dashboards, workflows and reports that help teams streamline and automate their reporting needs.
  • Evaluate the risks associated with data being shared within the organization and help enforce standards and policies related to data governance, data sharing, and PII visibility.

  • This role has an expected salary range of $100,000-$110,000 based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.
  • The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
