About The Position

The Financial Transaction Processing Department provides transaction processing services for various business units of CenterPoint Energy. Under general supervision, provide transaction processing services and accounting support to ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions. This position consists of varied work assignments and utilizes payment processing equipment, check disbursement equipment, expense reporting system, personal computers, SAP modules and other software.

Requirements

• A minimum of an Associate's degree is required
• Requires a minimum one (1) year of experience in a general office environment
• Previous experience in banking information concerning ABA numbers, bank accounts, ACH, wires, etc. is a plus

Nice To Haves

• A Bachelor's degree is a plus

Responsibilities

• Open research and post ARO's within 48 hours of receiving payments
• Process ACH/Wires
• Handle USPS customer payments
• Manage interoffice payments from consultants
• Open, research and deposit miscellaneous checks to their corresponding bank accounts
• Respond to vendors, customers, and employees with any related ARO or customer payments
• Develop and maintain special status reports
• Develop and update written procedures
• Manage business relationships, both internal and external, and maintain a professional demeanor
• Participate in department disaster recovery
