About The Position

The Senior Relationship Banker at M&T Bank is responsible for identifying and addressing customers' needs through proactive sales solutions and customer outreach. This role focuses on enhancing the branch customer experience by managing relationships, conducting assessments, and providing tailored financial solutions to both retail and business clients.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 3 years proven retail sales, call center, customer service and/or telesales experience, or 2 years of proactive sales experience.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service.
• Well organized with time management and prioritization skills.
• Demonstrated financial services product knowledge.
• Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy with customers.
• Proficient with internet user-level technology.

• Associates degree
• Notary public license
• Minimum of 3 years financial services sales experience
• Bi-lingual based on branch needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop new customer relationships and expand existing ones by identifying opportunities through portfolio management.
• Engage in relationship management, including customer assessments and profiling for sales opportunities.
• Conduct outbound calling to follow up with clients based on previous interactions.
• Gain knowledge of products and services offered by Business Banking.
• Evaluate financing requests and recommend loan structures.
• Research and provide industry knowledge to clients.
• Explain processes, services, and products fluently to customers.
• Attend community networking events to build relationships.
• Develop relationships with Centers of Influence for referral opportunities.
• Act as a liaison with business partners for retail product solutions.
• Perform basic sales duties and solicit new business banking relationships.
