About The Position

The Senior Rehabilitation Counselor - Sign Language Option is a permanent, full-time position with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services. Positions are located throughout the state. This is professional work in the field of rehabilitation of persons with disabilities into successful employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitation counseling services to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, with a focus on employment and independent living
• Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans to help clients achieve their employment and independent living goals
• Collaborate with other professionals, such as vocational rehabilitation counselors, job coaches, and employers, to provide comprehensive services to clients
• Provide training and support to clients on job search strategies, interview techniques, and workplace accommodations
• Develop and maintain relationships with employers and community organizations to promote job opportunities and employment outcomes for deaf and hard of hearing individuals
