The Registered Professional Nurse works within and contributes to an environment where the St. Peter's Healthcare Services mission is actualized, patient outcomes are achieved, and professional practice is realized.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing r equired
• Current unencumbered NYS RN license
• Basic Life Support certification
• 6 months previous RN experience
• Must be able to lift 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients/vital signs
• Responding to patient questions via triage/phone.
• Reviewing treatment guidelines and next steps with providers
• Blood draws
• Port flushes
• Genetic testing
• Educating patients about their chemo treatment (we call these chemo teaches)
• Cleaning exam rooms, nursing areas
• Instrument sterilization
• Assisting other nurses with their daily tasks
• Entering orders/medication refills
• Assisting physicians during exams
• Prior authorizations for oral chemotherapy medications
• Reviewing incoming clinical documents/documentation
• Chart prep for the next day/week ahead
• Perform other duties as assigned
