Senior Registered Nurse - Trauma General Surgery $8K Hiring Incentive Eligible for NEW Talent and/or Eligible Parkland Rehires with 1+ year from Term Date. Work schedule: Work schedule: Full-time Rotating (36 hours/week), MUST BE ABLE TO ROTATE BOTH DAY & NIGHT SHIFTS. 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. AND 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m., with rotating weekends and holidays. PLEASE NOTE: The RN – Trauma General Surgery role is not a Post-Op or PACU position. This role is best suited for nurses with experience caring for patients recovering from traumatic injuries and complex surgical conditions. Typical patient cases may include motor vehicle collision injuries, blunt or penetrating abdominal trauma, complex fractures, internal bleeding, and other trauma-related surgical conditions. This position requires the ability to provide acute care in a high-acuity inpatient environment, managing a 1:4–5 patient ratio while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support patients through critical phases of recovery. Candidates should be comfortable with fast-paced, high-complexity patient care and monitoring patients with evolving clinical needs. Primary Purpose: The RN is a licensed professional who uses the Parkland nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care delivery by the health care team. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient, identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems, develops and implements an individualized plan of care, and evaluates the patient's response. The RN utilizes knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to assist patients to transition through the healthcare encounter without any preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions to health care personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, each patient's condition and the competencies of the employee.
