Requirements

• Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464.
• Three years of Registered Nursing experience or a Master's of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct employees in nursing services.
• Communicate with, motivate, train, and evaluate employees.
• Plan and direct work, with authority to recommend actions such as hiring, transferring, suspending, laying off, promoting, discharging, assigning, and rewarding or disciplining direct reports.
• Assume ultimate responsibility for all nursing care delivered in the unit.
• Write performance expectations/standards for all nursing staff.
• Monitor the delivery of nursing care and ensure compliance with standards.
• Assist in developing corrective action plans for program deficiencies.
• Conduct audits on staff performance and implement performance improvement plans.
• Schedule and chair Registered Nurse meetings.
• Develop, review, and revise unit nursing and direct care policies and procedures.
• Participate in quality assurance activities, including infection control.
• Maintain a current file of all licensed nursing personnel in the unit.
• Assist with the preparation and follow-up of agency surveys.
