About The Position

We are looking for a Senior React Native Engineer who thrives in a high-caliber technical environment. This role is designed for a strong individual contributor who enjoys solving the complex "under-the-hood" challenges of mobile development—from refining scalable state systems to hardening CI/CD pipelines and navigating the native bridge. As a senior member of the mobile team, you will work as a peer alongside other experienced engineers to ship high-quality features, ensuring our mobile architecture is performant, maintainable, and well-integrated with our broader engineering ecosystem.

Requirements

Expertise: Extensive professional experience with React Native and TypeScript in production environments.
Mobile Ecosystem: Deep familiarity with mobile-specific internals, including Xcode, Android Studio, and managing native build configurations (Gradle/CocoaPods).
API Mastery: Strong experience collaborating on API design (REST or GraphQL) and an understanding of how backend architecture impacts mobile performance.
Infrastructure: Experience with mobile automation and deployment tools (e.g., CircleCI, Fastlane, GitHub Actions, or Bitrise).
Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a peer-to-peer senior environment—building consensus, following established patterns, and suggesting improvements where they add value.

Responsibilities

Architectural Participation: Actively participate in mobile architectural decisions, ensuring the codebase remains modular and scales effectively with our user base.
Backend Partnership: Partner closely with Backend and Platform teams to design and refine mobile-optimized API contracts, ensuring that service schemas support efficient state management and high performance.
State Standards: Contribute to the evolution of team-wide state standards, emphasizing state normalization and predictable data flow between the server and the local UI.
Optimization: Profile and optimize application performance, specifically targeting rendering bottlenecks and memory management to ensure a premium user experience.
Hybrid Problem Solving: Navigate the React Native/Native bridge to debug complex issues, patch native dependencies, or build custom bridges in Swift/Kotlin when necessary.
Technical Tradeoffs: Help evaluate and implement the best approach for new features, making informed decisions between React Native and platform-specific native implementations.
CI/CD & DevOps: Maintain and improve our CI/CD pipelines, automating builds and deployments to ensure high release reliability for the App Store and Google Play.
Standards & Tooling: Help establish and enforce coding standards through thoughtful code reviews and the introduction of tools that improve the development workflow.
Cross-Functional Quality: Partner with Product, Design, and QA to refine requirements and ensure the technical feasibility and quality of every release.
Documentation: Author clear technical documentation for complex features and infrastructure to support long-term maintainability.
