About The Position

The React Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting and debugging user-interface components for a React front-end for web-based products. Starting base pay for this role is between $117,000 and $146,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, training, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role will be eligible for a bonus as well as competitive medical, dental, and vision benefits, wellness reimbursement, life insurance, and a 401(k) with company match. We offer vacation and sick leave benefits (under a flexible time off policy in most states).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 6+ years of programming experience
  • Technology experience must include JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 skills
  • Experience with React.js workflows, including Redux Toolkit required
  • Knowledge of modern authentication and authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Tokens required
  • Understanding of build-tools and pipelines required
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies required
  • Experience with front-end security best practices is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with RTK with Query/Codegen preferred
  • Risk management and insurance expertise is a plus
  • .NET Core and C# development for connecting to backend APIs preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develops front-end user interface components and pages in support of internet-facing software tools using React.js.
  • Provides feedback on existing product and contributes to the design of new product features.
  • Builds intuitive and reusable components and front-end libraries for use by other Engineers.
  • Builds responsive web applications that work across different screen sizes.
  • Builds components for maximum performance across web browsers.
  • Tests components as part of an agile development methodology.
  • Provides ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing components and pages.
  • Participates cross-functionally with business users, Project Managers, and other Engineers to achieve elegant solutions.
  • Works alongside other Engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices, including clean coding and code reviews.
  • Provides recommendations for continuous improvement.
