About The Position

STV is seeking a Senior Rail Systems Engineer for our Rail Systems department at our Dallas, TX office. The role involves leading and supporting multidisciplinary rail systems engineering efforts including traction power, communications, signals, and SCADA. The engineer will develop and review technical specifications, design documents, drawings, and reports for rail transit systems, coordinate with clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated system solutions, and perform systems integration, interface management, and system verification and validation activities. Additionally, the position includes providing technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineers and supporting project delivery and quality assurance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field; PE license preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in rail systems engineering, preferably in a consulting or transit agency setting.
  • Knowledge of transit infrastructure including signaling, traction power, communications, and control systems.
  • Experience with industry standards (IEEE, AREMA, NFPA, etc.) and systems integration processes.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders.
