About The Position

Contribute technical expertise and work within a focused team that designs, integrates and tests radar systems operating from HF to 200+ GHz. Work closely with scientists and engineers to develop specifications and architectures for radar systems from the frontend components starting with the aperture to the backend components including the ADC, DSP, and processing flow behind it. Additional job functions include solving customer problems, writing invention disclosures, publishing papers, briefing customers, participating in proposal activities and assisting in marketing HRL expertise.

Requirements

• Strong expertise with radar systems, especially frontend and backend.
• 10+ years of experience with radars including operation, testing, and analyzing radar data.
• Proficient in MATLAB for developing radar waveforms and analyzing data.
• Experience with system simulators such as Simulink, VSS, and Systemvue is a plus.
• Deep knowledge of FMCW radars, radar simulators, radar algorithms, and radar data analysis.
• Expertise with common passive and active microwave structures and antennas.
• Ability to program algorithms in C++, MATLAB, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with FPGAs and programming FPGAs is a plus.
• Professional interaction with program managers, co-workers, and customers.
• Ability to perform detailed analyses of radar systems and components.
• Ability to prepare written and oral presentations.
• Ability to work well in a team and independently.

• Experience with module and subsystem operation/integration.

• Base salary range of $163,150 - $209,088 + bonus + benefits.
• Compensation determined by role, level, and location.
