About The Position

The Senior R&D Designer for Power Distribution Equipment at Siemens is responsible for driving innovative design projects in the field of electrical engineering, specifically focusing on power distribution systems. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in R&D and design roles, specifically in power distribution or electrical equipment.
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., NX, Teamcenter) and electrical simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Ansys).
• Experience designing power distribution equipment, including outdoor switch devices, switchgear, and circuit breakers.
• Ability to be on-site at the Wendell, NC location a minimum of 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Create ideas and refine designs for power distribution equipment, including outdoor switch devices, switchgear, and circuit breakers.

• Direct the prototyping and testing phases, analyzing results to validate designs and make necessary adjustments.
• Prepare detailed documentation of design processes, test results, and project reports to support compliance and future development efforts.
• Collaborate with international cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and product management, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to enhance design processes and product offerings.
• Oversee the design and development of power distribution equipment, ensuring high performance, reliability, and compliance with standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting best practices in design and engineering processes.
• Identify and implement innovative design approaches and technologies to enhance product functionality, efficiency, and sustainability.
