Summary A Senior Quality Technician is responsible for reviewing products and materials to make sure they meet company requirements. Their duties include measuring objects compared to their intended physical specifications, running quality tests, identifying defects, creating nonconformances, and managing the defective parts via a Material Review Board (MRB) process.

Requirements

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Technical skills and ability to understand blueprints, documents and manuals
  • Inspection tool experience (ex. Micrometer, dial indicator, profilometer, etc.)
  • Knowledge of basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to influence others to follow rules and regulations
  • Strong leadership skills and teamwork mentality
  • Verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Epicor ERP system
  • Familiarity with quality standards like ISO 9001, Six Sigma, or AS9100
  • Metrology experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintain quality standards for products a company produces
  • Works closely with Quality Engineer to perform needed inspections for control plans.
  • Reading blueprints and specifications to ensure that operations meet production standards
  • Inspecting and testing the materials and equipment produced by a company
  • Using tools such as micrometer, screw gauges, calipers, scales, etc. to measure products
  • Removing products that don’t meet production standards.
  • Accepting or rejecting finished products and discussing inspection results with the production team
  • Performing ADHOC inspections for R&D team
  • Auditing of processes and procedures
