About The Position

The Senior Quality and Safety Manager will direct and implement Leeco’s quality and safety functions within a manufacturing environment focused on precision part processing and steel plate distribution. This role is responsible for overseeing the company’s quality product assurance program, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and worker’s compensation management as they relate to steel processing operations, material handling, and distribution activities. The position provides leadership to the quality and safety team and ensures compliance with applicable regulatory, customer, and industry requirements across manufacturing and distribution operations. This position is based out of our corporate headquarters and requires in-person attendance. Travel to Leeco sites is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, Safety, or a related field.
  • Significant experience leading EHS programs in manufacturing, metal processing, or steel distribution environments.
  • Minimum 7 years of EHS and quality experience, including OSHA compliance, safety program development, incident investigation, and workers’ compensation management.
  • Experience supporting AS9100 / ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems within industrial operations required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, development, and management of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Quality functions across steel plate processing, manufacturing, and distribution operations.
  • Lead Safety and Quality teams in the development and maintenance of SOPs, work instructions, and best practices specific to manufacturing processes, material processing, and warehouse/distribution environments.
  • Develop and analyze quality and safety performance metrics to identify trends and risks.
  • Establish and maintain quality control processes for manufactured and processed steel products, including document control, internal audits, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 / ISO 9001 and customer quality requirements applicable to metal processing, part fabrication, and steel distribution.
  • Build awareness of customer quality requirements and support regulatory compliance throughout manufacturing and distribution operations.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce nonconformance, rework, scrap, and safety incidents associated with manufacturing equipment, processing operations, and material handling.
  • Oversee safety programs to ensure OSHA and regulatory compliance in manufacturing facilities, processing lines, and distribution/warehouse settings.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on quality and safety training programs for manufacturing and distribution employees.
  • Prepare and present quality and safety performance reports to executive leadership.
  • Maintain relationships with customers, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned by executive management.
