About The Position

This is an exciting role in a growing company. This position plays a key role in verifying that materials, components, assemblies, and final products comply with defense industry standards, AS9100 requirements, and design specifications . The Senior Quality Inspector works closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to maintain the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training or certification in quality inspection or metrology preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing or defense/aerospace inspection or similar role with an Associate’s degree or higher (or 4 years of relevant experience without an Associate’s degree).
  • Solid understanding of mechanical and/or electrical inspection techniques.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications.
  • Proficiency using standard inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMMs, optical comparators, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, MIL-SPEC and IPC-610/620 requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic quality data entry systems.
  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or certification in Quality Assurance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • Experience performing AS9102 First Article Inspections.
  • Working knowledge of coordinate measuring machines (CMM) or 3D scanning equipment.
  • Certification or training to IPC-A-610/620 and/or J-STD-001.
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and leads receiving, in-process, and final inspections of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components, subassemblies, and finished goods.
  • Verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, IPC-A-610/620 standards, and contractual specifications.
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain traceable records in accordance with QMS procedures and AS9100 requirements.
  • Identify and document nonconformances; provide recommendations to support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action implementation.
  • Support and perform first article inspections (FAIs) per internal and AS9102 requirements.
  • Coordinate inspections to meet stakeholder needs and due dates based on priority.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, warehouse, and engineering to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
  • Maintain calibration of inspection tools and ensure proper use of measurement equipment.
  • Participate in internal audits, continuous improvement projects, and customer source inspections as required.
  • Provide technical mentorship and on-the-job training to new and junior inspectors, support standardization and best practices.
