About The Position

The BAE Systems site in York, Pennsylvania is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineering Tech to investigate, evaluate, and resolve supplier quality material non-conformances by conducting technical drawing reviews, analyzing defect, processing defect dispositions, and leading continuous improvement projects. In this role, the Quality Engineering Tech supports Quality Inspectors in evaluating supplied materials, ensuring quality documentation meets company and customer requirements, and dispositioning non-conforming material reports. A self-starter and problem solver, the candidate uses analytical skills to find innovative solutions to quality-related issues. Actively participates, maintains, and nurtures open communication lines with internal customers and external suppliers. Utilizing internal metrics, scorecards, and analytical tools, performs material reviews, and works with suppliers to material non-conformances. The Quality Engineering Tech is an essential team player helping to support within a fast paced environment.

Requirements

  • Typically requires eight (8) years experience in a Quality related role with a High School diploma or the equivalent; or six (6) years experience with an Associates; or four (4) years with a Bachelors; or the overall equivalent
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 Quality System
  • Auditing experience
  • Problem solving - Root cause / corrective actions
  • Versed in engineering drawings / GD&T
  • Highly effective communication skills, verbal and written
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to support weekends as needed and per the rotation schedule

  • Certified Weld Inspector (CWI)
  • Green/Black Belt
  • First Piece Inspection/Testing
  • Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plans

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates the impact of nonconforming product and supports corrective actions
  • Champions problem solving and root cause analysis activities to eliminate recurrence of non‐conformances
  • Evaluates and builds quality plans for inspection or inbound materials
  • Tracks, monitors, and reports on quarantined materials
  • Reviews material inspection reports for accuracy and clarity
  • Works with support staff to ensure quality parts on-time to production partners
