About The Position

The Senior Quality Engineer leads real-time quality problem solving in production, ensuring stable processes, rapid containment of defects, and clear determination of root causes. This role partners closely with operations, engineering, and suppliers to resolve issues that impact throughput, scrap, rework, and customer satisfaction. It also evaluates and investigates customer returns and complaints, analyzing failure modes, validating root cause conclusions, and driving corrective actions that prevent recurrence. The position requires strong analytical skills, a disciplined approach to investigations, and the ability to drive sustainable corrective actions in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of Quality/engineering experience with direct, daily interaction on the production floor.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 requirements and how they translate into practical production controls.
  • Demonstrate mastery of root cause analysis tools (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone) applied to real-time production issues.
  • Ability to lead cross functional investigations under time pressure and drive permanent corrective actions.
  • Experience validating corrective actions using data, capability studies, and on floor verification.
  • Exposure to New Product Introduction work.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and inspection requirements.
  • Familiarity with production processes, equipment behavior, and common failure modes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PFMEA, control plans, and process audits, especially as they relate to preventing repeat issues.
  • Applicable skills include machining, assembly, welding, leak testing, and metal fabrication.
  • Comply with EHS rules.
  • Lead the work area with a safe culture mindset.
  • Support employees in their decision to shut down unsafe or environmentally damaging equipment or processes.
  • Ensure completion of EHS training.
  • Participate actively in the safety process.
  • Ask questions if something isn’t known.
  • Initiate an investigation on all accidents and injuries immediately.
  • Submit suggestions to improve EHS and take action on suggestions submitted by employees.
  • Act as emergency management coordinator for meeting locations and shelter areas.
  • Initiate accountability in the event of an emergency. (i.e. what to do in the event of an alarm for fire, chemical spills, tornados, etc.).
  • Be a coach to others who are acting unsafely.
  • Ensure the completion of all hazardous and non-hazardous waste trainings.
  • Ability to recognize deficiencies in chemical labeling.
  • Capability to follow satellite accumulation rules and requirements.
  • Proficiency to recognize hazardous wastes in your area and manage properly.
