THE OPPORTUNITY Silvus is seeking a full-time Senior Quality Engineer who will report to the Director of Quality. The successful individual in this role will serve as a senior engineering authority, advancing the Quality Management System, leading cross-functional improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with customer, industry, and regulatory requirements. This role represents the highest level of technical and quality expertise within the engineering ladder, driving quality strategy, mentoring engineers, and building supplier and customer partnerships that safeguard product reliability and performance. This position is fully onsite, Monday through Friday at Silvus Technologies’ HQ in the heart of vibrant West Los Angeles. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical discipline. Master’s preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or related engineering field.
  • Demonstrated leadership in calibration management, ESD compliance, and QMS ownership.
  • Proven track record of leading internal and external audits with successful outcomes.
  • Strong experience managing supplier quality, including audits, SCAR resolution, and supplier development.
  • Expert knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and industry-specific quality requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills, including advanced statistical analysis and risk management.
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring capabilities, with ability to influence across departments and at the executive level.
  • High-level communication and presentation skills for engagement with customers, executives, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on technical leadership in a fast-paced, high-reliability environment.
  • NOTE - Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent advanced certification.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics manufacturing.
  • Prior customer-facing experience with defense primes or government quality organizations.
  • IPC Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead company-wide initiatives to strengthen the QMS, including compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Act as calibration program owner and authority for all metrology processes, ensuring 100% compliance across equipment and test assets.
  • Oversee the site ESD program as the senior authority, developing policies, auditing compliance, and implementing best practices.
  • Partner with senior engineering and product teams to integrate Design for Reliability, Design for Manufacturability, and Design for Test into new product introduction.
  • Lead high-level root cause investigations, leveraging advanced statistical methods, FMEA, and risk-based tools to implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Direct supplier quality management activities, including supplier development, audit planning, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Represent Silvus during customer audits and technical reviews as a subject matter expert, communicating quality performance and improvement plans.
  • Develop advanced quality metrics and dashboards for executive review, identifying leading indicators of risk and opportunities for improvement.
  • Mentor Quality Engineers I–III, developing technical and leadership skills across the quality team.
  • Drive Lean/Six Sigma-based initiatives to reduce waste, improve yield, and optimize inspection/testing processes.
  • Support corporate strategy by aligning quality initiatives with organizational goals for growth, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
  • As necessary, perform other related duties of which the above are representative.
