Siemens Energy's Winston Technology Center in Rural Hall, NC is seeking a Quality professional with leadership experience and NDE Level III certification in nondestructive testing and development for power generation parts. This role, based at our Winston-Salem, NC plant, focuses on quality assurance, certification of internal NDE personnel, implementation of new NDE processes and support for plant NDE activities. Strong communication skills and collaboration with Manufacturing and Repair teams are essential. NDE Technologies include advanced tools such as C-Scan, Phased Array UT, PT, MT, ECT, RT, Thermal Infrared NDE and automated systems and software.

  • Perform training, qualification and certification for a diverse group of NDE professionals.
  • Develop inspections, technique sheets, create procedures and implement nondestructive tests.
  • Document and present development/inspection results to engineering and management.
  • Define and track part-specific solutions for quality problems repair and new part phases of power generation components.
  • Support failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct or assist in Probability of Detection (POD) studies and measurements for NDE inspection performance and capability.
  • Perform process and products audits to make sure the processes are compliant.
  • Perform other duties as required, work independently and create opportunities without direct supervision.
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering related field (advanced degree preferred). Experience considered in lieu of engineering degree.
  • 10 or more years of expert knowledge of NDE guidelines, standards, and certification requirements.
  • Current ASNT Level III certification in Radiography Testing (RT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Mag particle Testing (MT), and Visual Testing (VT). Experience in other NDE techniques such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Eddy current Testing (ET), and Infrared (IR) are a plus.
  • Experience with NDE development and inspection of complex parts and assemblies (Forgings, Castings, etc.) in accordance with standard procedures, specifications, methods and practices.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, quality principles, Six Sigma, FMEA and Root Cause Analysis and other aspects of Quality Assurance.
  • Strong leadership in data analysis, organization, quality and communication.
  • Proven leadership experience in team management and project oversight
  • Familiarity with IT tools, processes and methods; computer programming skills are a plus.
  • Business fluency in English; a second language a plus.
