Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? Pratt & Whitney Columbus Forge Disks (CFD) is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer, Disks to support our Columbus Quality business. Conducts activities to modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation, control systems and protocols; evaluate technical data and work instructions in support of Engineering and Operations. Identifies and manages risk utilizing and driving PPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.) to identify risk in product development and propose risk management solutions; conducts investigations, provides analysis and develops recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities. Reviews process control documentation to ensure it is in compliance with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts; analyzes quality activities to identify systemic issues and enable development of specific quality initiative improvements and strategies Develops proactive quality initiative strategies and drives their implementation. Performs Escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommends corrective action for internally produced products & processes; promote the Quality culture in the business, through compliance to the QMS and adherence to Quality Cardinal Rules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or closely related industrial environment or a Master's degree and 3 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or closely related industrial environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel
  • Knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma and LEAN
  • Understanding of AS9100/AS9110 standards
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience
  • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
  • Ability to interpret Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements into simple terms and vice-versa; along with training and development for subject matter experts and end-users
  • Experience leading product/process non-conformance investigations (i.e., DIVEs)
  • Experience in a team lead/mentorship capacity
