About The Position

Focus School Software seeks a Senior QA Feature Enhancement Engineer based out of our office at 475 Central Ave., Suite 305 St. Petersburg, FL 33701. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. 40hrs/week.

Requirements

  • 60 months of quality assurance or software testing experience.
  • Must have three (3) years of experience in implementing tests in CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, Testrail, and Webdriver.io; creating and implementing comprehensive test plans for large-scale web or mobile applications; writing complex SQL queries (e.g., MSSQL or PostgreSQL) for data analysis, debugging, and test validation; and evaluating and implementing performance, security, accessibility and regression testing tools.
  • Must have one (1) year of experience in mentoring or training QA team members on testing tools, frameworks, and practices; web technology with PHP or JavaScript in the context of debugging or QA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a scalable risk-based quality assurance strategy across all product offerings — web, mobile, and API-based modules.
  • Standardize the core QA activities of test design, data handling, test environment setup, and release validation process for consistent and efficient delivery across teams.
  • Possess a strong understanding of technical concepts, including advanced SQL and browser debugging consoles.
  • Work in partnership with Developers, Account Executives, manual and automation QA teams to deliver integrated and consistent quality across the software development life cycle.
  • Offer internal training and guidance to manual and automation QA engineers in best practices, tool usage, and test framework implementation.
  • Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD workflow with tools like Webdriver.io and Jenkins.
  • Assess and integrate test tools for performance, accessibility testing, visual check testing and security, and support team-wide adoption.
  • Establish and maintain quality metrics dashboards to track defect leakage, test coverage, speed of execution, and readiness of release for various projects.
  • Perform gap analysis of existing test assets and identify the areas of coverage that are redundant and missing to enhance test efficiency and dependability.
  • Be the primary point of contact about QA architectural decisions and confirm consistency with company objectives and client requirements.
  • Periodically assess the latest QA methods, tools, and technologies to ensure the company’s QA practice is current and effective.
