Requirements

  • 4 + years' experience in pump repair.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to be granted military base access.
  • Military experience highly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Working knowledge of all tools and measuring devices required for pump repair.
  • Intermediate in Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. Word, Excel.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write basic reports and business correspondence.
  • Effectively communicate by responding to questions from groups of managers, engineers, and other customers.
  • Ability to understand and apply basic math principles.
  • Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Read and interpret drawings technical information and government contracts.
  • Proficient in all Shop Processes and Procedures.

  • Understanding of Government contract language and legal compliance requirements including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) & Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR) compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and process jobs in Wide Area Workflow and Commercial Asset Visibility (CAV).
  • Perform operational testing and reporting for customers to include Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
  • Maintain all gauge calibration for equipment requiring calibration.
  • Maintains tools, safety equipment, instruments, and materials, specific to pump, motor, and equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Operates a variety of equipment including hand and power tools as needed to construct, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment.
  • Performs Shipping and Receiving duties that includes creating shipping labels for government furnished material (GFM), receiving parts and conducting inventory audits.
  • Operates forklifts.
  • Constructs plywood shipping boxes.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with co-workers, outside partners, i.e. Government Inspectors.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workstation.
  • Conduct pump, unit open/ inspections, and rebuilding in accordance with Blackmer drawings and process.
  • Properly store, use, and dispose of waste/ HAZMAT, scrap metal in accordance with posted Local/ State regulations and Company policy.
  • Paint and prime product per customer and government specifications/ contracts.
  • Maintains regular attendance and adherence to prescribed work schedule to conduct job responsibilities.
  • Works overtime as required with advance approval from manager.
  • Observes safe work practices and safety methods, follows all safety rules and Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
  • Performs duties in a professional manner and teams well with others.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
