This temporary position is located in Raleigh, NC - Wake County. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $50.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services. This position is located at 101 Blair Dr, Raleigh, NC 27603, The primary purpose of this position is to be a contributing member with forensic expertise in the Section that provides operational oversight and management assistance for the Hospitals and providers of capacity evaluation and capacity restoration (CR) services, Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity acquitters, and other forensic populations. Key responsibilities include assistance with the following: communication and interpretation of Division policy to the assigned facilities, operational oversight, assistance, and liaison to assigned facilities, management of key Division initiatives, especially pertaining to capacity evaluation and restoration, and to their interface with the community, and representation of the Hospitals to internal and external customers, agencies, and stakeholders. Key initiatives for this position may include any of the following over time: Program management for assigned projects, with a strong focus on forensic services such as capacity restoration; Provide primary communication linkage with Sheriff's Departments/Detention Centers and MCOs regarding the planning, development, and implementation of CR programs; Leading the selection and contracting of jail-based capacity restoration programs; Providing consultation to providers of Capacity Restoration during development of services, inclusive of psychologists and other clinicians; Monitoring providers/vendors of capacity restoration in jails and outpatient settings; Collaborating with local entities, such as jails and county governments, regarding performance of contracted CR vendors; Working closely with other Divisions, especially DMH/DD/SAS, to strengthen the supports across the system for individuals who have been determined to be ITP; Identifying best practice initiatives related to capacity restoration and providing leadership in efforts to promote and coordinate standardization of identified activities across settings; Gathering and analyzing data, especially capacity restoration data, and producing reports with the identified information; Providing formal and informal consultation and training to service providers and facility management and staff on policy and best practice service delivery efforts; Interpreting state and federal statutes, regulation, and standards; participating, as directed by the Division, in development of responses to federal and state regulatory and legal bodies; Coordinating planning components of the design and implementation of complex services, programs, or operational features; Other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina under the provisions of the NC Psychology Practice Act (G.S. 90-270) and two years of professional psychological experience, one of which must be postdoctoral. Refer to the law for specifics regarding experience requirements.
