About The Position

Effective July 31, 2025 in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the status of the State budget. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 16, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 4.62 percent and will receive 8 hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through December 2026. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Under the general direction of Mental Health Administrator, Statewide Mental Health Program (SMHP), the Senior Psychiatrist (Specialist), CF, will provide direct assistance in the development, training, and maintenance of the Electronic Health Record System (EHRS) and Mental Health reporting system. The Specialist will also serve as a subject matter expert for quality improvement initiatives. The Specialist will provide both on-site and remote training to psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, clinical counselors, recreation therapists and staff directly supporting Mental Health clinicians. Participates in meetings associated with the implementation and maintenance of the electronic medical record and quality improvement reports. Works in a collegial manner with the multiple disciplines involved in quality improvement initiatives, reporting, and medical record maintenance and operations. Resolves issues encountered in the medical record and provides on-site support to the field. Travel up to 5% may be required. Please note: Individuals may be eligible to receive a $10,000 one-time recruitment and retention stipend should they meet the eligibility criteria, including but not limited to remaining employed with CCHCS for six months. Additionally, individuals may be eligible to receive a monthly recruitment and retention differential during their first year with CCHCS (totaling $20,000), should they meet the eligibility criteria. IMPORTANT: California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) employees may be eligible for a $5,000 referral bonus should you be selected for hire, and remain employed with CCHCS for 90 days. For a CDCR/CCHCS employee to be considered, a questionnaire must be completed to the best of your knowledge, including the referring employee's name, classification, PERNR, and work location. The questionnaire will be provided to the selected candidate during the pre-employment process. This position is located in the Mental Health Program. Requirements

  • Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the Medical Board of California or the California Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
