The Senior Protocol Analyst will play a crucial role in this process, working independently with minimal oversight to provide high-level personalized support to researchers and Principal Investigators (PIs). This position requires a deep understanding of research compliance concepts and the ability to conduct administrative pre-reviews of moderately complex animal use protocols submitted to Tulane's IACUCs. The successful candidate will also be responsible for conducting training and development related to IACUC compliance, as well as providing administrative support to IACUC leadership and staff. In this role, the Senior Protocol Analyst will liaise with faculty and staff investigators to ensure that IACUC protocols conform to university policies, IACUC requirements, and government regulations regarding the use of vertebrate animals in research. The analyst will provide timely and accurate guidance to investigators on the preparation and submission of new or renewal IACUC protocol applications, protocol amendments, and related documents. Collaboration with the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) and the Office of Environmental Health and Safety (OEHS) will also be essential when studies involve biohazards or chemical/physical hazards.
