About The Position

We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Risk Engineering Consultant to join our insurance carrier client's Risk Engineering team and support commercial clients throughout the Philadelphia metro region . In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted technical advisor—conducting property risk assessments, identifying exposures, and delivering actionable recommendations that help clients reduce loss potential and strengthen their safety culture. This is an opportunity to leverage your technical expertise, field experience, and consultative approach while representing a global insurance brand known for excellence in risk management solutions. Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Property Risk Engineering , Loss Control , or Fire Protection Engineering within commercial insurance or consulting.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA codes , fire protection systems, building systems, and industrial processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Fire Protection, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline strongly preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Comfortable traveling regionally throughout Philadelphia and surrounding counties .
  • Ability to manage a field-based schedule, meet reporting deadlines, and work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • CFPS, PE, ARM, or other relevant professional certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site Property Loss Control surveys for commercial and industrial accounts across the Philadelphia area.
  • Evaluate fire protection systems , building construction, occupancy exposures, special hazards, and overall property conservation practices.
  • Develop comprehensive written reports including risk improvement strategies and underwriter-facing recommendations.
  • Assist underwriting teams by providing technical insight during risk selection, pricing, and renewal reviews.
  • Build consultative relationships with clients and brokers, promoting best practices in fire prevention, impairment management, business continuity, and risk reduction.
  • Monitor client progress on risk improvement plans and provide ongoing support and follow-up.
  • Deliver training programs for clients on fire protection systems, hazard management, and emergency response preparation.
  • Stay current on NFPA standards, emerging risk trends, and industry regulatory requirements.
