About The Position

Convex North America Insurance Services LLC (‘Convex US’) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Convex Insurance UK Ltd (“Convex UK”), and as such, has substantial capital support to assure not only a successful startup but long-term financial success. We are a MGU for Convex Insurance UK Ltd. that underwrites specialty insurance in the commercial property and casualty market. This a fantastic new opportunity for a talented, energetic, and ambitious individual to join our growing team. In this role, the ideal candidate would possess extensive knowledge of the property facultative marketplace and have existing relationships to achieve new business production goals. The individual must be willing to collaborate with team members in building out the next phase of Convex US. This position will work closely with and report into the Head of Direct Property Facultative. The successful candidate will produce significant new business in accordance with established underwriting guidelines and authority levels.

Requirements

• Education to Bachelor’s degree level or significant years of insurance related experience and / or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3+ years of property facultative underwriting experience
• Established relationships and excellent working rapport with various insurance property underwriters
• Possess a proven track record of driving profitable growth in the property facultative marketplace
• Ability to build, maintain and expand relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Possesses a“can-do” attitude and a willingness to roll up sleeves in a start-up environment
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Ability to travel

Responsibilities

• Market, build and manage strong relationships with property underwriters from various insurance companies throughout the country
• Contribute to our marketing initiatives and provide consistent communication of our facultative property product and appetite to our cede’s underwriters
• Travel to meet with underwriters and engage in industry events to maintain existing relationships while fostering new productive relationships.
• Build and manage a profitable property facultative portfolio of business
