Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred, but not required)
  • 5+ years of accounting experience; real estate experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in month-end close procedures and financial statement preparation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities in a fast-paced setting

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Yardi software is a significant plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle month-end close processes, including journal entries, general ledger management, and financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
  • Manage Yardi workflows, including invoice processing via PayScan and utility expense oversight through Yes Energy.
  • Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and independent variance analyses to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Oversee company-wide expense management, including spend tracking, user onboarding, and compliance reporting.
  • Develop and enhance internal control procedures and financial policies to drive consistency and transparency.
  • Reconcile complex accounts, including bank, GL, intercompany transactions, amortization schedules, and real estate tax payments.
  • Partner with property management teams to address operational accounting challenges and streamline reporting.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure timely K-1 distributions and adherence to filing deadlines.
  • Support annual audits by preparing deliverables and coordinating with auditors.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses and provide financial insights to support executive decision-making.
