JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Property Accountant is responsible for the financial reporting for all assigned properties with emphasis on account analysis, journal entries, and bank reconciliations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Communication and interaction with property management teams. Handling accounts payable for separate entities and vendors Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors Monitor properties cash position regularly. Complete daily and monthly cash reconciliations. Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly. Responsible for recording fixed assets and booking depreciation. Work with Property & Regional Managers to develop budget variance explanations. Create and post adjusting journal entries. Prepare monthly financial statements according to GAAP which includes in-depth review of general ledger, and balance sheet & income statement accounts. Ensure internal and external reporting deadlines are met. Help develop and update Accounting Policies and Procedures Assist in training and managing completion of tasks of Accounting Specialists. Assist in setting up books for newly acquired properties. Assist in the final accounting for acquisitions and dispositions. Assist with internal and external audits. Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
