Requirements

  • An accounting degree is required.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of senior accounting experience is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, accuracy, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel skills are preferred.
  • Yardi software experience is preferred.
  • Experience with multi-company accounting is a plus.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for a portfolio of communities.
  • Financials will be prepared in compliance with GAAP and within applicable reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare monthly report variance analysis, assist with annual budgets and other periodic reporting.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation for each community.
  • Monitor/oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory conducted at each community by the Business Office Director (community's bookkeeper).
  • Regular communication and coordination with each community's Regional VPO, Executive Director, and Business Office Director.
  • Monitor community cash activity daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and estimates as needed. Complete bank account reconciliations.
  • Coordinate/oversee compliance with applicable accounting policies and procedures by Community Business Office Directors.
  • Responsible for meeting all external financial reporting requirements required by the company's external investors/lenders/CPAs.
  • Responsible for ensuring all community accounting records and documentation are maintained properly.
  • Responsible for reporting community bank requirements.
  • Responsible for tracking capital improvement projects as required by the community.
  • Other responsibilities as requested.
