About The Position

BKF Engineers is seeking a Senior Project Surveyor to join our team! This role focuses on leading survey project delivery, coordinating staff, and ensuring quality standards are met. The Senior Project Surveyor makes decisions on technical elements, mentors junior team members, and identifies opportunities for additional services. They may assist with proposals, attend project meetings, and support client coordination. The role also contributes to business development by promoting BKF’s services and identifying new project opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
• 4+ years of office surveying experience with progressively increasing responsibility
• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or LSIT is highly desired
• Deep understanding and experience of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment
• Proficient in CAD software, especially Autodesk Civil 3D
• Construction staking experience, including reading plans, construction calculations, and preparing cut sheets

Nice To Haves

• Experience processing laser scanning data, including registration and 3D modeling

Responsibilities

• Preparing construction staking calculations by reading plans and interpreting CAD files
• Creating mapping deliverables including boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, plats, and legal descriptions
• Post-processing field data collected via total station, GPS, levels, 3D laser scanners, and unmanned aerial systems
• Building 3D models of sites and structures for owners, architects, engineers, and contractors
• Travel to various job sites and offices may be required
• Lead and initiate special projects as needed
