About The Position
Metra is one of the largest and most complex commuter rail systems in North America, serving Cook, DuPage, Will, Lake, Kane, and McHenry Counties. The agency is linking communities in Northeastern Illinois by providing safe, reliable, and efficient commuter service. The Project Delivery Department was established in 2020 to ensure Metra is positioned to effectively and efficiently utilize the influx of new capital funding from the State of Illinois' Rebuild Illinois program. By establishing a project management oversight (PMO) function, the department will provide a structure to coordinate the array of tasks and deliverables required for delivery of capital projects. Reporting to the Director, Project Management, the Senior Project Manager will manage the most complex commuter rail projects including stations, civil infrastructure, bridges, and support facilities ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards.
