We have an immediate opening for a talented Senior Project Manager. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex commercial construction projects within defined timelines and budgets. This role ensures adherence to project management best practices and methodologies, while leading by example, and embodying APX Construction Group’s vision, mission, values, and culture of safety. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field or business-related field.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in Construction Management, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of project management experience, including 3+ years in commercial construction.
  • Certified in OSHA 10 or 30 (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, practices, and tools.
  • Proficiency in project management software, including ProCore and Bluebeam.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to read, understand and implement project plans and documents.
  • Ability to multitask and exercise independent judgment related to the daily administration of projects.
  • Ability to communicate both written and verbally highly detailed information between project managers, foreman, field crew, subcontractors, and architects/engineers.
  • Able to work in a team environment and foster positive and professional relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project team in project startup tasks, including pre-construction design development, budgeting and estimating.
  • Assist the estimating team in attending pre-bid meetings, performing quantity take-offs, soliciting subcontractor proposals, and submitting bids to clients.
  • Permit submission and approval.
  • Execute and manage subcontract agreements.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules, making necessary adjustments.
  • Create, distribute, & collect submittals for project manager review.
  • Assist in creation and maintaining overall project schedules.
  • Assist in trade partner coordination & scheduling.
  • Function as the main point of contact with the owner and on-site representative.
  • Ensure trade partners and APX project teams are following the APX safety requirements.
  • Document meeting minutes at subcontractor or owner meetings and distribute minutes after completion of meeting.
  • Create, distribute, & review RFI’s.
  • Update and distribute construction drawings and specifications.
  • Complete concrete, in-wall, & above ceiling inspections prior to city inspections.
  • Prepare reports regarding job status.
  • Create and maintain project look ahead schedules.
  • Maintain city inspection records.
  • Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standards.
  • Conduct key customer service visits throughout the project, from pre-construction meetings to close-out, ensuring project commitments are met and issues are resolved.
  • Lead the project team in project closeout tasks.
  • Lead the project team in financial management of the projects, including conducting quantity take-offs to accurately measure subcontractor proposals.
  • Complete project projections, margin plans, & change order management.
  • Review and approve subcontractor payment applications.
  • Review and approve material supplier invoices.
  • Complete monthly owner payment applications.
