Group: Road Position: Senior Project Manager Location: Kansas City, Missouri We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide strategic leadership and oversight for complex, high-profile roadway and transportation projects. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple projects or large, multi-disciplinary teams, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring successful delivery of major contracts and programs. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional who demonstrates strong leadership, business acumen, and technical expertise in roadway design and project execution.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
12–18 years of progressive experience in roadway and transportation project management.
Proven record managing large DOT or municipal transportation projects.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience managing multi-office, multi-discipline project teams.
Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee multiple roadway projects or large, complex assignments.
Serve as the primary client contact for major contracts and key accounts.
Manage scopes, budgets, schedules, and quality control processes across multiple teams.
Develop and implement project management best practices within the Road Group.
Mentor and coach Project Managers and Deputy Project Managers.
Lead business development efforts, including proposal writing, interviews, and client presentations.
Collaborate with Group Leaders and executives on strategic pursuits and workload planning.
Monitor financial performance and profitability across assigned projects.
Ensure compliance with DOT, AASHTO, and other applicable standards.
Identify risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
Participate in staff performance reviews and contribute to team development.
Perform other duties as assigned.
