We are currently hiring a Project Manager to support a vital infrastructure project located in Rancho Palos Verde, CA. The Project Manager will support the overall construction and geotechnical scopes of work related to mitigating the Portuguese Bend ongoing landslide. This is a high visibility and high impact role within the public sector. Our Public Works team is a prime consultant to state, county, and municipality projects nationally. You will be teaming with project, program, and client leadership to ensure a successful project outcome.

Requirements

Knowledge and experience with geotechnical elements of construction projects.
Knowledge and experience planning, managing & coordinating all aspects of project, scope and cost for public works projects.
Work experience in project planning and project development.
Ability to develop and control project scope.
Ability to develop and maintain project budgets.
Ability to develop and review project schedules.
Ability to run the day-to-day management aspects of projects in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to effectively facilitate project team and client meetings.
Ability to effectively monitor and coordinate construction activities with the various project stakeholders.
Ability to adapt and respond effectively to project issues and challenges.
Effectively recognize and elevate relevant project issues to superiors.
Ability to set and manage project expectations.
Working on projects with multiple phases and construction contracts.
Utilize effective written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Geology, or related field.
A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in engineering and project management.
Prior experience in geotechnical engineering.
Prior experience with public works projects and public contracting code.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.

Responsibilities

Plan, manage, and coordinate all aspects of the project schedule, scope, and cost, including geotechnical aspects.
Manage the project stakeholders.
Evaluate documents and communicate the client’s specific goals and expectations to all project team members.
Develop and communicate action plans that will lead the project team throughout the project, beginning with the initial Project Management Plan.
Re-evaluate the contract scope of work as the project progresses against the goals, expectations, and the needs of the client, and recommend adjustments as necessary.
Coordinate with cost management group for preparation of cost estimates, cost studies, actual job cost reviews, and budget reconciliation.
Organize and maintain framework for project team processes and record keeping of electronic and tangible documents.
Coordinate with various local, state, and federal agencies.
Prepare cost and revenue projections.
Budget development and management.
Ability to run larger, more complex projects.
Effectively delegate project tasks to project management team.
Lead the vision for project procedures and processes for running the project.
Other duties as assigned.
Attendance at work during normal business hours is required.
