About The Position

Certerra, Rone (a Certerra Company) is actively seeking an experienced Construction Materials Professional to serve as a Senior Project Manager in our Gulf Coast Group, Houston office. Prospective candidates should have immediate ability to submit a resume and list of references, and if requested, examples of their technical and problem-solving skills. The candidate should have extensive knowledge of construction materials testing in the laboratory – field and the construction industry. They should have a history of consulting facility owners and provide project specific solutions, the ability to perform field work, and have a willingness to travel and work 40 plus hours per week. The candidate will not only be expected to support existing clients but be able to foster new clients and grow the Construction Materials Testing, Geotechnical, and Environmental Consulting groups for the Gulf Coast Group.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Industry lab certifications required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • At least 8-years of experience in the construction materials testing and/or construction industry.
  • Highly proficient technical communication skills.
  • Experience in managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent client interaction skills.
  • Ability to travel to project sites throughout the state of Texas and surrounding states. At times, minimal overnight work will be requested.
  • Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Is highly organized and takes the initiative to complete tasks in timely and efficient manner.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule and additional hours during periods of peak business demand.
  • Is detail oriented and team oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects from lead to pursuit to execution to close-out phases.
  • Supervise and support field technicians.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, lab reports and field reports.
  • Develop estimates, proposals, and responses to RFP’s and RFQ’s.
  • Proactively coordinate and communicate with clients, internal teams, subcontractors, and consultants.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, tracking milestones, deliverables, and financials.
  • Review construction documents with an emphasis on construction materials testing.
  • Lead project meetings and assist clients with decision-making.
  • Maintain detailed and organized project documentation.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams.
  • Mentor junior staff.
  • Support business development activities inclusive of proposal development, trade organization participation, and client presentations such as Lunch and Learns
  • Procure new clients and offer the highest level of customer satisfaction for existing clients.
  • Provide quality oversight of project deliverables.
  • Identify possible improvements to project management, workflows, and project site activities.
  • Remain knowledgeable in the latest industry best practices, trends, and products.
