Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in project management for public sector capital projects
  • Demonstrated experience delivering DSA projects in California
  • Strong knowledge of DSA processes, documentation, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience managing K-12 and/or higher education facility projects
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, PE, or AIA
  • Experience working with California school districts or community college districts
  • Familiarity with project management and construction tools (e.g., Procore, CMIS, Bluebeam)
  • Experience with bond-funded programs or large capital improvement programs

Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle project delivery for DSA-regulated projects including planning, design, construction, closeout.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients, design teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage and coordinate DSA submissions, approvals, back-checks, and closeout documentation.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, risk management, and reporting.
  • Facilitate design coordination meetings and constructability reviews.
  • Monitor construction progress, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Ensure compliance with DSA requirements, California Building Code, and accessibility standards.
  • Support procurement processes, including RFP development and contractor selection.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff and project teams.
  • Identify risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
