About The Position

STV currently has an opening for a Senior Project Manager in the Construction Management group in Suffolk County, NY. This role involves assisting the Executive Managers in leading the project team, setting goals, developing project implementation strategies, policies, and procedures, and mentoring team members. The Senior Project Manager (SPM) will manage staff, recruit new staff, and oversee program financials and schedules. They are also responsible for carrying out duties assigned by the Executive Team to ensure the successful completion of the program. The SPM will lead cross-functional healthcare infrastructure projects/programs and initiatives, especially those with demanding resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Key responsibilities include negotiating program scope changes, staffing assignments, and fees on behalf of STV, developing program organizational structures and implementation strategies, and defining program resource requirements. The SPM will manage client relationships and monitor design and construction activities to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and corporate quality standards. They will define and assign project responsibilities to the Project/Program Team, develop policies and procedures to foster a high-performing team, and evaluate program financials, cash flow analyses, cost estimates, purchase orders, change orders, and invoices, implementing actions for program compliance and successful delivery. The role also involves working with the team to forecast, identify, and address potential liabilities and risks, and to develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules, ensuring project objectives are met. The SPM will develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain client, consultant, contractor, and vendor relationships, manage conflict resolution, and communicate complex ideas to persuade stakeholders, including executive leadership. They will also develop standards, protocols, policies, and procedures to facilitate project success, build a collaborative work environment, and provide guidance, direction, and instruction to less experienced team members and colleagues. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical engineering in conjunction with commensurate years of industry experience
  • Minimum of 15 years of infrastructure owner representative/project management experience, specifically in Hospital, Healthcare Systems
  • Demonstrated history in managing a minimum of $100 million in healthcare or related construction types
  • Demonstrated experience in managing high-rise construction projects
  • Demonstrated experience in managing program/project teams on large complex healthcare projects
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and a track record in project management techniques, concepts, principles, and standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels internally and externally to establish credibility on project teams
  • Knowledge and ability to creatively resolve issues as they arise
  • Knowledge and ability to supervise people including recruitment, training, performance management, and people development
  • High proficiency with general Microsoft applications, including MS Project and Share Point
  • Demonstrated experience with project management software and applications
